Uresil is a medical device development, manufacturing and distribution company that serves the needs of physicians who perform minimally invasive procedures. Through innovation and relationships we provide high-quality devices that improve patient care and reduce overall treatment costs.
Technology, Innovation and Flexibility
Building on a foundation of aggressive, innovative research and development as a division of Becton Dickinson & Company, UreSil became an independent company in 1986. Since then, it has expanded from a product development enterprise to a fully integrated development, manufacturing and distribution company. For more than two decades, the company has transformed innovative ideas into high-quality, unique, medical products for use in interventional radiology and vascular procedures. Today UreSil is headquartered in a 35,000 square foot facility in Skokie, IL where all the product development and manufacturing is conducted.
In 2004 the company was purchased from the original owners in an employee buyout. Since then it has expanded sales and distribution both domestically and in international markets. Today UreSil is capable of scaling production to match the market demand that accompanies an expansion of GPO and IDN relationships.
A network of 18 independent representative groups support UreSil’s domestic sales with 70 field sales representatives to provide hands-on product support in every US city. Three direct employee regional managers support these independent sales reps in their respective regions: Western, Southern, and Northeastern. Some of our current major customers include Kaiser Permanente, Tenet, Premier, HCA, US Navy and the Veterans Administration.
On the international side, UreSil is represented by 32 independent distributors located in most of the world’s major markets: Japan, China, South Korea, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Scandinavia, UK, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, India, Brazil, and Columbia just to name a few.
Our product focus has been in the area of interventional radiology, and more specifically, a comprehensive product offering comprised of devices for abscess, nephrostomy and biliary drainage. UreSil trademarked products include the UreFlex® Drainage Catheters with the Tru-Set® locking system, Tru-Close® Thoracic Vent, and the Tru-Close Suction Drainage Bags.
On the vascular side UreSil developed and manufactures the Tru-Incise® Valvulotome used for in situ bypass surgery. This unique device incorporates a single flexible catheter and interchangeable cutter heads in 2mm, 3mm, and 4mm sizes.
All of our products are “Made in the USA” and have US FDA 510K clearance and are CE certified for European distribution. UreSil is also certified under the Quality Management System ISO-13485: 2003.
